What is this

A native Windows shell: double-click to launch DeepSeek Harness (dsh), optional auto-start on boot, with strong emphasis on service lifecycle and error diagnostics. The installer is only ~1.4MB in size and does not bundle dsh; missing dependencies (Node.js, etc.) are filled in on demand without modifying your system environment.

Restraint: Aims for a clean original dsh experience — no file panel or built-in terminal; everything delegated to dsh plugins, decided by the user. System notifications only for security updates and dsh version updates.

Installation

MSI (recommended for newcomers): download dsh-launcher-<版本>.msi from Releases and double-click to install (you can opt in to auto-start on boot in the wizard). To uninstall: Settings → Apps → dsh-launcher.

Portable ZIP: download dsh-launcher-windows-<版本>.zip, extract and double-click DshWeb.exe; delete the folder to uninstall.

Nothing happens when double-clicking? First run check-prereq.cmd in the extracted directory — it checks .NET / WebView2 / Node and prints install commands for anything missing.

After installing dsh-launcher-lifetime, you get three node.js residency modes (follow window, resident, follow tray). Switch between them on the dsh settings page under "Node Service Residency":

FAQ

• Is there a difference between the MSI and the ZIP? Same content; the MSI has a standard install/uninstall flow.
• Will uninstalling delete dsh data and plugins? No — only the launcher's own data is cleaned up; profiles/, settings.yaml, etc. are left as-is.
• Does the service hog memory? dsh is a full service and requires a resident node.js.
• Port 3080 is occupied? Set DSH_WEB_PORT=3090 and restart.
• Running into problems? Run check-prereq.cmd; if it still fails, use DshWeb.exe --diagnose to export a diagnostic package and submit it via an Issue (template). Logs are in ~/.dsh\dsh-launcher\dsh.log.
