Timeline now supports DeepSeek Harness. If you use DeepSeek Harness, you can install the native plugin dsh-timeline — timeline navigation, favorite folders, prompt library, conversation export, and formula copying: all the familiar features are there, with theme following and ready to use out of the box.

What is Timeline?

Timeline is a browser productivity plugin built for AI chat pages such as ChatGPT, Gemini, and DeepSeek. It does not modify the platform's native interface — it simply fills in the capabilities long conversations truly lack: timeline navigation, organization of favorites, a prompt library, conversation export, formula copying, and data backup.

Longer chats make finding things harder:

• To revisit a question, you must scroll all the way up.
• Valuable conclusions scatter across sessions, hard to find later.
• Formulas, code, and charts are hard to copy and carry over.
• Each platform has different input habits; common prompts and follow-ups are repetitive.
• Plugin data is locked in one browser; migrating to another device or browser is difficult.

Open any supported AI chat page after installing. Most features are on by default; toggle any off per platform in the extension settings panel.

Features

Category	Description
Conversation navigation	Generates a timeline on the right side of the page. Each node corresponds to a user question, and supports click-to-jump, keyboard navigation, back-to-bottom, and question time labels.
Question list	Aggregates all questions in the current conversation in one place, with jump, favorite, and highlight-marking, ideal for reviewing long conversations by question.
Favorites & archives	Favor individual Q&As or entire conversations, and manage them with folders, notes, and search. Some platforms support a favorites entry in the native sidebar.
Input enhancement	Prompt library, quick follow-ups, smart Enter behavior, input box animation, and quick access to common settings.
Reading & copying	Text highlighting, LaTeX / MathML formula copying, Mermaid diagram preview, and code block helper actions.
Code execution	Run or preview common code blocks such as JavaScript, TypeScript, SQL, HTML, JSON, and Markdown.
Data management	JSON import/export, Google Drive backup and restore, for data migration and multi-device sync.
Personalization	Timeline theme color, conversation width adjustment, multi-language UI, and fine-grained feature toggles.

Formula copy, code run and Mermaid charts work without a specific AI platform. The extension offers actions whenever identifiable content is found.

Data & Privacy

Timeline's core data is stored locally in the browser by default, including bookmarks, folders, prompts, settings, time tags, and note content.

Optional Google Drive sync is used only after user authorization, for backup and restore. No conversation or personal data is collected or shared.

Open source: all data logic is reviewable in the repo.

Permissions

Permission	Purpose

unlimitedStorage	Prevents long conversation bookmarks, notes, and backup data from being affected by the browser's default storage quota.
identity	Used for Google Drive authorization for backup and restore.

Local Development

No build step. Load the source directory directly:

1. Open the extensions management page in Chrome or Edge.
2. Enable developer mode.
3. Select "Load unpacked extension".
4. Choose the root directory of this repository.
5. After modifying the code, click reload on the extensions management page, and refresh the target AI platform page.

For Firefox debugging, you can use about:debugging to temporarily load the extension.
