A persistent Agent-preset (mode) selector docked inside the DeepSeek Harness composer input bar, next to the model selector.

What it does

• New task (blank session) — click the chip, pick a mode: the preset applies to this new task immediately (the host recomposes with the chosen agent preset).
• Already started session — the current mode is shown read-only; a running task keeps the mode it started with, so picking another entry cannot switch it and does not change anything globally. The chip just explains that the mode is fixed for this task (each task chooses its mode independently).
• Set as new task default — at the bottom of the menu there is an explicit action that writes the global default for future new tasks (agent-preset-registry / selectedDefault). Only that explicit action affects other tasks; switching a mode inside a new task never does.
• Works regardless of the Developer Tools gate — the built-in agent-preset seat only renders when developerTools: true (it hides the trajectory view / code diff clutter too). This plugin is a standalone chip that does not need that switch and does not bring the clutter back.

The default is stored in the same settings namespace the built-in UI uses (agent-preset-registry / selectedDefault), so new sessions pick it up with the exact same semantics.

Install

There are three ways to install the plugin.

1. From the plugin market (easiest)

If you have the dsh-market plugin enabled: Settings → Plugin Market → search "mode-seat" → Install.

If the plugin is not listed in the market yet, it will be as soon as the awesome-dsh-plugin catalog refreshes (it is refreshed daily by CI).

2. Directly from GitHub

3. Manually (dev / offline)

1. Copy the dsh-mode-seat package folder into your profile's node_modules (e.g. ~/.dsh/profiles/desktop/node_modules/dsh-mode-seat/).
2. Add "dsh-mode-seat" to the dsh.profile.bundles array in the profile package.json.
3. Restart the harness.

After installing

A full restart of the harness is required (client bundles are composed at boot and cached). Then open any conversation and find the mode chip at the right end of the input bar, next to the model selector.

Usage

1. Click the chip (e.g. 标准模式 / Standard mode).
2. In a new/blank task — choosing an entry switches that task's preset only (each task is independent).
3. In a started task — the mode is fixed (a running session keeps the composition it began with); choosing an entry just explains this and changes nothing globally.
4. To change the default for future new tasks, use the menu's "Set as new task default" action at the bottom.

Development

• index.js — host half: an empty apply (all behavior is client-side).
• dist/client.js — browser half: a window.__ModuleLoader__.load({id, factory}) bundle registered into the conversation.input.right slot (id: mode-seat, order: 15).
• cordis.patch.yml — composition patch that wires the package into a profile's bundle list.

Local install during development: drop the package under your profile's node_modules and add dsh-mode-seat to dsh.profile.bundles in the profile package.json.
