WebScout

Tavily-backed web search (Search) and page fetch (Fetch) for DeepSeek Harness — with a clean, two-column settings card.

Features

  • Search provider webscout: Tavily /search with depth, topic, time range, answer mode, raw content, domains, country, images, retries and an optional result cache.
  • Fetch provider webscout-fetch: one provider that can read a page through Tavily Extract, Firecrawl, or a direct HTTP request.
  • Key rotation: several credential references form a ring; a key that keeps failing sits out for 60 seconds.
  • Fallback: delegate to the built-in DeepSeek provider when Tavily is unreachable (optional).
  • Settings card: live quota from Tavily /usage, connection test, search and fetch controls, and an advanced section for everything else.

Install

dsh plugin --profile <profile> add "file:/path/to/dsh-webscout"

The bundle patch elects webscout for search and webscout-fetch for fetch, so the card never writes the web service's config entry.

Configuration

Open Settings → Plugins → WebScout search. The card edits the plugin's own webscout section; the API key is stored in the local credential store under TAVILY_API_KEY (or the reference you configure).
